The Front Suspension

The front wishbones are going to get a treatment of zinc plating with cadmium passivation.  That will stop any corrosion, and has a rather nice green/gold finish.

Plan B !  Decided against the zinc plating.  I don't think the colour will go with the rest of the car.  It's going to get the same treatment as the chassis now and end up black.

Actually started on the front suspension now.  I've decided to put it in place before I put the body on.  This is so I can put wheels on the car and put it one the ground.  Then I can do the engine bay without worrying about knocking the bodywork or damaging the paint.

The wishbones and uprights all got the zinc primer/black spray treatment and it's been put together but none of the nuts have been tightened.  I know it's all going to have to come off again to fit the body.

The front suspension has been replaced permanently.  That was a nice easy job.
Notice the metal cable bands round the spring.  These are stainless steel cable bands that just do not come undone.  There are three on there keeping the spring compressed.  I found these in a Korean shipyard, but have never seen them in the UK.

Interesting little aside.  The Koreans will always pronounce Shipyard as "Shimyard"  This is because Ship is a very very rude word in Korean.
